Warning System
When students repeatedly exhibit Poor Behavior Choices, or when students exhibit extreme or dangerous Poor Behavior Choices, they may be recommended for a Warning. A “official” Warning is a consequence for a serious behavior infraction or for repeated inappropriate behavior. If a student accumulates three warnings, a probationary plan is developed. Only the Director can give a Warning. When a student has 3 Warnings, the learning team negotiates a behavior contract. Should the student violate the contract, alternative placement from MC² is considered.
Probationary Plan
A probationary plan is a contract developed for a student who has received three official Warnings. The plan is developed by the Director and the student’s learning team. The plan specifies what is expected of the student, what the consequences for not meeting those expectations are, and the length of time the probationary plan is in effect.
